Pleasant village surrounded by quiet lanes with good visibility of oncoming cars

The attractive pheasant was introduced to Europe from Asia for hunting. It loves our local countryside, and eats a wide range of food including grain, worms, spiders and green shoots. It nests on the ground among thick vegetation laying 6-15 eggs which hatch after 23 days. The mosaic jokingly pairs the pheasant with its arch-enemy the fox in a permanent pas-de-deux.

Take care crossing the main road but this stretch is lovely

This is well-surfaced, I felt comfortable doing it on my road bike. I can't think of any other good ways to cross this A-road - it's quite busy so it does not make pleasant cycling. For some reason, when planning routes, I have to really "convince" Komoot to take this route, but it's definitely worth it.

A dead end for motor vehicles so a lovely, quiet lane for cycling. Pedestrian and bike crossing over A420 at southern end.
