It is located on the edge of the site on the western edge of the town and consists of 30 buildings, some of which date from the 19th century. The city tower, also known as the market tower and fish tower, is the landmark of the Lower Austrian town of Fischamend and was built in 1050 as a border and watchtower under Emperor Henry III. built. After a fire in 1834, the landmark was renovated and largely received its current appearance. The almost 31 m high tower served as a community hall and night watchman's apartment until 1927 and has since been used as a local museum.
