This is easily missed if you keep to the A roads around here. Cute ford and little footbridge too.

I wish I’d read the tips before putting this into my route! I was heading East, uphill on a gravel bike. Not much I could ride. I think I could have got down it on my MTB going the other way….maybe.

August 8, 2023, River Dart Trail

The trail along the River Dart around the Dartington Estate is a wonderful run. It's easy to follow and very pretty, with the chance of spotting kingfishers. It can get muddy and even flood a bit in the winter, but it's still fun.

Built in 1028 and a pub since the 1400s the Church House has a fascinating history; it's even got a friendly resident ghost. The pub serves good classic pub food, drinks, and snacks. There is plenty of inside and outside seating but it's worth booking if you want a meal. Open from 12:00 Tuesday to Sunday and they normally close at about 11pm.

North Wood on the Dartington Estate is a great mixed woodland with some specimen trees including awesome Redwoods. Lots of nice trails to explore.

The Dart is a river in England, which rises in two branches in the Dartmoor National Park. The Dart estuary, where there is a tidal range in the river, starts in Totnes. At the mouth of the Dart in the English Channel, Kingswear is on the east bank and Dartmouth is on the west bank. The Dart flows past Greenway Estate, Agatha Christie's holiday home.

Parish church. C13, enlarged in C15 by addition of aisles and enlargement of transepts. Restored probably c1860s. Roughcast stone with slate roofs. Internally the walls are entirely plastered with unique incised and painted decoration. This has been affected by previous high level roof leaks and more so from rising damp retained by hard cementitious external pointing which is causing significant salt damage internally. The congregation has begun to plan a campaign of repair and to consider sources of funding https://historicengland.org.uk/advice/heritage-at-risk/search-register/list-entry/23304
