The space between the two trunks of a forked tree has become home to a small sacred monument. A crucifix has been placed here, and a semicircular arch above it identifies it as the Leonhardt Cross. A round roof protects the cross from the elements.

The Diex parish church is one of the best preserved fortified churches in Carinthia and is located in the center of Diex on the southern slope of the Saualpe. It is dedicated to Saint Martin. The church was first mentioned in a Gurk land register in 1326, but its origins date back to before 1168.
