Great walk but incredibly muddy and wet in the winter so make sure you're prepared for that or wait till the summer!

There's a great cafe here, actually named "Cafe by the Lake". Coffee, cake, paninis etc. plus 'proper' meals too.

Did this in April. The lumber scattered each side of the track are being fell because of Ash Die Back.

The views when you climb the Downs are spectacular, you can see out to sea with the power windmills in the distance and the flood plains around Amberley. We loved every minute of it, please see it for yourselves, making sure it is a clear sunny day.

This pub can be accessed from the main road or from the Downs Link bridleway. There’s a good pizza menu for anyone looking to refuel.

The Downs Link is a beautiful long-distance route for walkers, horse riders, and cyclists that follows two disused railway lines. It crosses the Surrey Hills, the Low Weald, the South Downs, and the Coastal Plain. Since the trains departed in the 1960s, the embankments and cuttings have become a green corridor for wildlife and people.
