The street in Warninglid is one of my favourites. The hill ramps up as you come round the corner heading up from the south. it's manageable but you need the right gear! At the top you are rewarded with a string of lovely old houses each with a neat garden out front, and sometimes free apples!

St Mary's is a Grade II-listed church with a pretty graveyard. Ancient yew trees provide enormous canopies over the tombs and create a blissful sense of peace. It's a lovely spot to visit on a hike in the area.

A highly recommended pub but comes with the roar of the A23.

Off road alternative linking Warninglid to Hammer Pond. Mostly good surface with steep hill at southern end

Slaugham Mill Pond is a pretty stretch of water that is fed by the River Ouse. It was formed in medieval times to power the forges of the local iron industry. Today, it is a haven for wildlife and a nice place to stop for a moment.

An ancient yew tree, estimated to be about 1000 years old, stands over the graveyard at the rear of St. Mary's Church. This is an amazing tree with an incredible girth - well worth parking your bike up and wandering around to the other side of the church to see a tree that was probably a seedling during the Battle of Hastings!
