The monument to the founders of Kiev (Ukrainian Пам’ятний знак на честь заснування міста Києва) is a group of sculptures built on May 22, 1982 for the 1500th anniversary of Kiev and a landmark of the Ukrainian capital Kiev. It is supposed to commemorate the legendary founders of Kiev. It represents a nine meter long boat that is carried by three waves. Kyj and his brothers Shchek and Horiv stand in the stern of the boat, while sister Lybiddie stands at the bow of the boat with outstretched arms. The monument created by Vasyl Sakharovych Borodai stands on a red granite slab in a round fountain on the Dnepr promenade in Navodnyzkyj Park and is made of forged copper and not brass, as the sculptor actually intended. The 4.3 m high sculptures of the men are filled with glass concrete, the 3.8 m high Lybiddie is hollow. [2] In 2010 the monument was renovated

The combined road and underground bridge has five arches and is almost on the site of the Nikolaus Chain Bridge that stood here until 1920. It leads from the right Dneprufer (metro station Dnipro) to the Venetsianskyi island with the Hidropark (metro station Hidropark) on top. The chief engineer of the bridge, which opened on November 5, 1965, was the Kiev architect Heorhij Fuks. The bridge is 684.5 m long, 28 m wide and is 20 m above the river. [2] It has a two-tier structure. At the top there are two tracks for the Kiev metro, at the bottom the bridge has four lanes for road traffic

The monument to the founders is one of the hallmarks of Kiev. You should definitely see it. It's good to get there by bike. In the summer in the evening there are lights and fountains.
