The church, named after the Finding of the Cross, belongs to the deanery of Zistersdorf in the Archdiocese of Vienna. The church has two and a half Romanesque nave bays and a square choir from the 12th century. The third nave bay, the tower, and the first two bays of the south aisle were built during the reconstruction in 1693 as the old sacristy and St. Barbara's Chapel.

In 2025, after his death, the last three days of the festival (second version) were performed again at Pentecost.
