After German reunification After 1991, when the seaside resort was included in the urban development program, huge sums were invested in modernizing the infrastructure. Guest houses, restaurants and hotels returned to private hands and were largely renovated, so that Bansin's townscape increasingly regained its traditionally sophisticated character. In 1997, the community was awarded the title of Baltic Sea health resort. On January 1, 2005, the three Baltic Sea resorts of Ahlbeck, Heringsdorf and Bansin, which had previously been independent communities, were merged to form the community of Dreikaiserbäder. On January 1, 2006, this was renamed Heringsdorf.

This Art Nouveau clock with playful garland ornamentation is located on the square in front of the pier in Ahlbeck (Heringsdorf) on the island of Usedom in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania and is about 5.5 meters high. Built by the Rochlitz company from Berlin, this unique work, at the top of which there is a wind direction indicator, was installed in 1911 and donated by Maria Grunack - a spa guest from Berlin.
