In early May, the yellow rapeseed fields light up on the hills. A great sight!

The tree-lined avenue at Karmelenberg was presumably created as a historical pilgrimage and procession route to the chapel, serving at the same time as orientation and protection in the open landscape. With its regularly planted trees, it forms a striking green corridor to this day. It vividly connects religious use and targeted landscape design. In a religious context, as at Karmelenberg, it also took on a protective and almost "blessing" role: A path under linden trees was not only shady, but also, in a figurative sense, a "protected path" to the chapel.
