Very nice path along the river, it can be flooded in the winter and sometimes spring as well. So check the river levels and know what to expect. I would get on the south bank when the level is 1.90 or more. check-for-flooding.service.gov.uk/station/6286

Cyclist-friendly cafe with outdoor seating. No specific bike parking although there's plenty of spots to prop a bike outside.

unpopular opinion: I prefer Brew Babu to Beans Cafe 🤭 home made cakes, lots of hot and cold drink options - their frappes and bubble tea are awesome!

The stone bridge and high street are so pretty and peaceful it’s a bit of a shock to find you’re actually just a stone’s throw from two busy A roads. There is a slightly hidden bike path to take you under the A1 if you look for it.

Elton is a ridiculously pretty village and it has a great pub as well, just to put the 🍒 on the 🧁.

This route is partly unmade and stretches are muddy after rain. It’s passable on a road bike but better on gravel tyres.
