Much better than the old road bridge

Scenic yes, but I do not recall any gravel. It did tend to be quite muddy in parts in late-October.

Bar Hill is a modern village that was built mainly between 1965 and 1989. Its many green spaces and uncrowded detached and semi-detached properties make it a peaceful little settlement to wander through. There is a supermarket store, other shops, a nature reserve and a pub, as well as accommodation at Cambridge Bar Hill Hotel.

The towers are set at right angles from those of the Boxworth bridge, along the centre line of the bridge rather than across its width.

Lovely View after coming out if a forestry byway, probably better on a sunny day

Good views and a bench to sit on. Downhill is grassy but I managed it even in the winter on a road bike. Connects to other bridleways when you turn right at the bottom of the hill and also the Cambourne to Caxton bridleway which avoids the A1198. Currently very muddy (January 2020). I did get to the end on a road bike although I also had to spend 15 minutes cleaning the bike!!
