The ecologically oriented care and design of the monastery park are a great help to animal and plant species, as suitable habitats are not always easy to find within settlement areas. As diverse green spaces as possible are particularly important for biodiversity in densely built-up areas.

First, you walk through a low tunnel far into the mountain, where you are finally given a detailed explanation of the working conditions in former times and what happened in the tunnel during the Second World War, including the construction of the first fighter jet. After the mine tour, you continue a bit further down to the largest underground lake in Europe, where you take a short boat trip. The lake is very clear, the air is great, and the lighting is also very beautiful to look at. We went to the Seegrotte purely by chance and were lucky enough to get a private tour, as apparently no one else wanted to visit the grotto at lunchtime. Our guide was very nice, explained everything in great detail, and in the end, we were even allowed to do two laps on the lake.

The abandoned cement factory in Vienna is a fascinating industrial monument that exudes an incomparable lost-place atmosphere. Between the rusted silos and crumbling walls, you can literally feel the past bustle of the factory. Here, history and decay merge in an impressive way, while nature gently reclaims the area. Ivy winds around steel beams, moss covers the concrete surfaces, and birds have found new nesting places in the abandoned halls. This scenery lends the place a melancholic beauty that invites wonder and contemplation. This way, you can enjoy this special lost place in peace and let the unique connection between nature and industrial history sink in.
