Would recommend heading from Wales into England at sunset. Riding into the setting sun in such a tranquil spot

Savage climb for which I’d recommend at least a 32t on rear. Oh and not doing it on a loaded bike😫 But what a view! And very few cars. Always a bonus. Relatively narrow tarmac. Bit gravelly nearer the bottom but gets smooth and dry once above the trees.

I take the train from James street station, one stop to Hamilton square then past the ferry terminal and onto New Brighton it’s a great cycle to Meols stopping at the green hut for refreshments very good food.
