A wonderful, unsecured rock with a fabulous view down to the Upper Rhine Graben. It is part of the Weisenbacher Steig, rechts der Murg round created in 2024: https://www.weisenbach.de/weisenbach_online/Freizeit+_+Tourismus/weisenbacher+steig+-+rechts+der+murg.html

The special thing about this inconspicuous bench is its location on the edge of the forest, which provides shade for the spot at least in the mornings. In addition, there is the fabulous view over the flower meadow dotted with fruit trees to the summit cross on the Großer Schöllkopf.

The beautiful stone cross is named on the signposts of the Schwarzwaldverein and is thus also a landmark on this large area, kept clear of forest, with fantastic flower meadows and fruit trees.

At the Kapfblick there is a large, shady picnic table (for min. 8 people) and a bench in front to enjoy the wonderful panorama of the Weisenbach vineyard on the Kleiner Schöllkopf and behind it Obertsrot with the Schloss Eberstein above. Even the path there is worth this short detour.

The church is open for visits. Use the side entrance on the north side. "[...] After many discussions, the construction of the current church began in 1841. A neo-Gothic three-nave pillar basilica with a choir. [...] In 1962, another thorough renovation of the parish church began. The local population participated quite eagerly in this work. The decision was made to lower the gallery by three meters. Thus, the new gallery was a gain for the singers, the acoustics, and the spatial design. Initially, it was only planned to remove the worm-eaten high altar structure. But the redesign brought further innovations. The altars were made of Italian marble Fraye by Karlsruher Steinwerke. The colored windows were designed by Edgar Seeger from Munich. The large relief of the high altar was created by the sculptor Oscar Steidle. A special gem is the portal, designed by Mac Lean. Old statues from the first church found their way back into the redesigned house of God during the renovation. [...] The last major renovation was carried out from October 2004 to October 2005. [...] Patron Saint St. Wendelin The patron saint to whom the church is dedicated and under whose protection it was placed is Saint Wendelin. Saint Wendelin is the patron saint of shepherds and farmers. He is invoked against cattle plagues, for favorable weather, and good harvests. In sacred art, he is depicted as a shepherd, as a pilgrim with sheep and pigs. His feast day is October 20th, on which the church's patronage festival traditionally takes place with a procession." Stable bench, but you are not looking at Reichental, but at the big Schöllkopf. The landscape is impressive nonetheless.
