One of two bridges over the very busy Worcester Bypass dual carriageway - very useful!

Wonderful house and gardens, which were designed by Capability Brown. I love this place in the evening when the crowds have gone home.

Lovely old Sandstone bridge that is so narrow it is single track only and so is controlled by traffic lights. Note there is a small car park on the Eckington side that can get full very quickly, some folk have taken to parking on the road partially blocking it - it is illegal to park on the road here due to the double white lines.

Where's the Cathedral?

When I woke this morning, I did not really know what a Dovecote was. It is not the first building you find when entering through the gates. That is a stable. A birdhouse, with 557 rooms.

The River Severn flows through Worcester City, overlooked by Worcester Cathedral on its western side.

The Cathedral – i.e. a bishop’s church – in the city of Worcester is a very historic building with an almost thousand-year-old Christian tradition. The construction of this house of worship was begun as early as AD 1084, shortly after the Norman conquest of England (by William the Conqueror, formerly Duke of Normandy, then King of England, AD 1066). This house of worship and thus the entire diocese has, which is by no means unusual for Anglican cathedrals, been entrusted to a double patronage: firstly Jesus Christ himself, the God-son incarnate, and secondly the most blessed Mother of God and Virgin Mary.
