This impressive pumping station regulates the water management of the Schulensbroek. In case of heavy rainfall, it pumps excess water to the Schulensmeer to protect surrounding villages. A technical masterpiece on your route, with a beautiful, wide view over the surrounding wet grasslands and ditches. Definitely stop for a photo!

The Saint John the Baptist Church was the parish church of Schulen, located on the Kiezelweg there. In 2025, the last mass was held in the church. It lost its function for worship and has been sold to the architectural firm Burg Vaes and Zwarthoek from Herk-de-Stad. The architectural firm will set up office spaces in the church and a hall will also be provided that can possibly be used by the local community. Furthermore, there will be meeting rooms and living spaces in the tower.
