On the Rode Heuvel in Wetteren, artist Cazn painted a monumental portrait of singer Wim De Craene. The work covers approximately 80 m² and is a powerful tribute to one of Flanders' most recognizable voices. The mural stands in the heart of the residential area and immediately catches the eye with its warm colors and soft, almost photographic lines.

The Red Hill in Wetteren is named after the song "Rode Heuvel" (Red Hill) by Wim De Craene from 1973, a successful Dutch-language cover of a French original (Montéhus) with a Dutch translation by Jaap van de Merwe.

Best to check openings hours before you go, because the bar is not always open.

In autumn, on wet surfaces, it can be very treacherous. You'll need your driving skills here.

St. Martin's Church in Burst – Neo-Gothic beauty with ancient roots. Built in 1852 on the foundations of a centuries-old parish, this church is a Neo-Gothic gem in the heart of Burst. Inside, you can admire murals, marble altars, and a historic organ. A place where silence, art, and history converge – the perfect resting place during a walk or bike ride through Erpe-Mere. On Sundays, there's a large chicken stall where you'll work up an appetite and a craving for something to eat. I didn't expect it myself, but next time I know where to picnic 😉

In Wetteren, graffiti artist Cazn has created a large portrait of Wim De Craene. It is a tribute to the singer, 30 years after his death. The artwork is on a wall at Rode Heuvel in Wetteren. Gunther Baeyens, better known by his stage name Cazn, is a graffiti artist from Wetteren. In the past, he created, among other things, a 350-meter-long mural at the Deurganckdok in the port of Antwerp. Today he surprises his municipality with a large work of art: a red wall with a portrait of Wim De Craene. "This artwork is a tribute to the singer, 30 years after his death," Baeyens explains.
