Regatta Urban Sports Park โ action for young and old Within a short walking distance of the waterfront, on the other side of the neighborhood near Blancefloerlaan, lies the 17,000 mยฒ Regatta Urban Sports Park. A real hotspot for those who like to move, play, or just want to look around. The eye-catcher is the pumptrack, the first permanent public pumptrack in Belgium. The undulating asphalt course is a challenge for skaters, BMX riders, steppers, and inline skaters, who move around the course with fluid pumping movements. In addition, there is an outdoor freerunning zone with robust concrete elements and a safe rubber surface. Calisthenics, street football, footvolley, and basketball enthusiasts will also find something for themselves here. And for the youngest visitors, there is a large playground. ๐ก Practical tip: Want to combine urban sports with some action on the water? Then navigate to Katwilgweg 1, 2050 Antwerp. Here you can park for free and have a view of the wakeboarders. The Urban Sports Park and the pumptrack are located in the Regatta residential area, with central access via Hugues C. Pernathlaan 22. The location is also easily accessible by bike or public transport: cyclists can come via the pedestrian tunnel, and tram passengers get off at P+R Linkeroever, from where it is still a short walk. In short: a modern place where sport, play, water, and relaxation come together beautifully.

Lovely cycling here, with climbs and descents on wonderful cycle paths. If this were completely finished, we could say that cyclists have truly been considered here. Although the traffic is nearby, you can hardly hear anything due to the noise barriers that have been placed everywhere. There is only a break in the Laarstraat due to roadworks, but you could get through with your bike in hand.

An audiovisual tour of the Sint-Martinuskerk is available. It was developed in 2024 as part of a bachelor's thesis by a young teacher from Bever. Download the Erfgoedapp; select "Sint-Martinuskerk" via the compass symbol and then enter the number of the item you want to learn more about. You can find these numbers in a brochure available at the back of the church. The walk starts outside at the intersection of Kloosterstraat and Kasteeldreef. At the back of the church, there is also a comprehensive brochure explaining the architecture and art treasures in the church.

St. Andrew's Church is the parish church of the St. Andrew's parish in the city of Antwerp. This parish roughly coincides with the fourth district or St. Andrew's Quarter and was known at the time as the parish of misery. Construction of the church was begun by the Augustinian brothers in the early 16th century. Hendrik Conscience was one of the newborns baptized in this church. Since November 25, 2007, part of the church has been converted and opened as a church museum. In the early 16th century, Augustinian observants of the Saxon Congregation (also known as Augustinian hermits or barefooters) came from Enkhuizen to Antwerp. Citizens Joost Hoens and Marc Mussche donated a house and land to them on Ridderstraat. There they built a chapel, dedicated to the Holy Trinity in 1513. The Chapter of Our Lady resisted and took legal action, but surrendered after the Augustinians received support from the city council, which even agreed to finance the construction of the monastery. An agreement was reached in 1514. This agreement reveals that the Augustinians numbered eight, led by Prior Johannes van Mechelen. The current St. Andrew's Church is the monastery church they began building shortly thereafter.
