Photogenic castle ensemble reflected in the Meuse. As you cycle along the towpath/cycle path (RAVEL) on the left bank of the Meuse, you are treated to this iconic postcard view of Château de Godinne and the adjacent Église Saint-Pierre. This characteristic ensemble originally dates back to the 16th century and was then the seat of the local lordship. In calm weather, the old stone walls, the castle tower, and the church spire are magically reflected in the calm waters of the Meuse. This specific spot on the route is the ultimate photo stop for cyclists and hikers travelling between Namur and Dinant.

Dinant is a beautiful little town with a rich history and is well worth a stop.

I passed through there a long time ago and it wasn't lit, which scared the young children present. This tunnel is quite long, without lighting in the middle it's really dark. However, I have seen photos where lighting can be seen. It's a good thing if it is well maintained and lit 24/7.
