A very beautiful area. You hike in the landscape protection area, where a project of the nature conservation authority of Altötting was carried out. You pass flowering meadows, wet meadows, a pond with a spring, periodically wet hollows and an alder quarry wall. Here, a makeshift staircase leads into the pond, so that you can cool your legs with the numerous fish there. I wouldn't describe it as a Kneipp facility.

The parish church of St. Rupert is located on a mountain 439 m high and can be seen from afar in the area. St. Rupert's has a distinctive tower with a pointed roof and 4 corner towers. Birds breed in the tower. A castle stood here in the early Middle Ages. But Burgkirchen am Wald was already a parish at the time of Duke Arnulf the Evil (907-937). "The late Gothic building from the second quarter of the 15th century has a high, protruding west tower. Medieval parts are a portal with Romanesque door fittings and a Romanesque baptismal font in the tower basement as well as a Gothic wall fresco in the choir. The furnishings are Baroque. The Way of the Cross dates from the year 1749" https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Burgkirchen_am_Wald

The pilgrimage route to Altötting since 1439 4. The Benedict Way since 2007 At this point there is also a shelter and a bridge over the Mörnbach.

Four important pilgrimage routes lead past this tree: the Way of St. James, the Pilgrimage Route to Heiligenstatt, the Pilgrimage Route to Altötting and the Benedict Route. Symbols for these pilgrimage routes are artfully carved from the dead tree.
