The former 10 locks on this stretch (approx. 16 km), which all had their own names, have disappeared. The Liesing aqueduct torso also had to make way for the new railway. Near Laxenburg, the inflow water flowing from the still existing canal bed (approx. 30 km long), which flows into Wiener Neustadt from the Kehrbach, flows into the Mödlingbach. On the stretch from Laxenburg to Wiener Neustadt, the gradient steps of the locks numbered 1 (Guntramsdorf) to 36 (Sollenau) can still be found today - in whole or at least partially.

The ecologically oriented care and design of the monastery park are a great help to animal and plant species, as suitable habitats are not always easy to find within settlement areas. As diverse green spaces as possible are particularly important for biodiversity in densely built-up areas.

The Old Town Hall in Wiener Neudorf, located at Rathausplatz 1, looks back on a varied history: Built in the 15th century as St. Wolfgang Chapel, the building was extended after destructions in 1750 (tower construction). After 1780 it was used as a school and residential building, and from 1902 until the mid-1970s it served as the town hall.

The two-story building, almost square, captivates with its three striking round towers with elegant conical roofs at the corners. Previously, the entire complex was surrounded by a moat, which could be crossed via a drawbridge, an impressive testament to medieval architecture. Particularly worth seeing is the oldest part of the castle, the north wing: its ground floor dates back to the 12th century and thus tells stories from a distant past. In the spacious chapel, today Byzantine-Greek Catholic, there was once an altarpiece by Johann Michael Rottmayr from 1702, which was unfortunately stolen in 1945. Since 1950, a copy of a Coronation of the Virgin by Martino Altomonte, painted by Alice Rougon, has adorned the holy site. The chapel is ecumenically cared for by the parish of Trumau and the Greek Catholic Central Parish of St. Barbara in Vienna. Another highlight is the old manor farm (Meierhof) located to the southeast, dating from 1638, which was lovingly restored after a fire in 1880. The farmyard is freely accessible and a great destination for a bike tour in the region, definitely worth seeing!
