Huge beech trees lining the road frame incredible views of vast pastures where the backdrop appears, in all its grandeur, the southern slope of the Presolana mountain massif, still snow-capped in the ravines and less exposed sides.

Lake Branchino is located in the Orobie Prealps, between the Seriana and Brembana valleys, on the administrative border between the municipalities of Ardesio and Oltre il Colle. It is possible to reach the lake from three different points: from the Seriana valley, starting from Valcanale, a hamlet of Ardesio and following the CAI trail number 220 that reaches the Alpe Corte refuge and, passing alongside numerous huts, goes up to the Branchino refuge and then to the lake; from the Brembana valley, from the town of Roncobello via a carriage road that touches the locality of Costa Superiore and the hamlet of Capovalle. A little further upstream the trail becomes a path, along which follow the signs for the Branchino pass; from the Serina valley, via trail number 222 that goes up to the Capanna 2000 refuge and then continuing along the Sentiero dei Fiori

Started halfway up the climb the Afternoon recording with a snowy path, with crampons doable by everyone without difficulty. Landscape that always offers breathtaking views. Having arrived at the pass practically alone and with the sun that was now setting, the muffled silence gave us a feeling of lightness and wonder.
