It is a Romanesque church building whose origins cannot be clearly explained historically. But due to its architectural features it can be traced back to the 10th or 11th century. In ancient times the community lived near the church and the adjacent cemetery. The community probably moved in later periods and subsequently formed the new inhabited center towards Mount Grena; possible for security reasons.
