Capriccioli beach / Cala Capriccioli In the north-east of Sardinia, a small peninsula divides a piece of paradise. Here lies a beach with particularly fine sand, which, lined with granite rocks, reflects light colors and offers a breathtaking view of the small islands of the Costa Smeralda A strip of granite covered with Mediterranean vegetation protrudes into the sea in the southern part of the Costa Smeralda. The name Capriccioli means "little goats" in Gallura. They are a pair of powerful, rounded rocks smoothed by the sea, which form several coves located south of Porto Cervo, in the Arzachena area, about 15 km from the city. The small beaches of Capriccioli are all made of fine, light sand with greyish shades that sink into the deep blue sea, protected by yellow, pink and reddish granite rocks in the midst of dense Mediterranean scrub: junipers, mastic trees, olive trees and maritime pines that add to the wild charm of the place. The east coast is characterized by a flat, sandy seabed, protected from the Mistral, making it an ideal place for families with children. Separated by pink granite blocks, to the west lies the other side of the Capriccioli coastal strip, which offers two more beaches. San Pantaleo (SS), the magical place in the heart of the Costa Smeralda (Olbia) A small jewel in the immediate hinterland of the Costa Smeralda: this is San Pantaleo, the characteristic place that lies high on the granite rock formations of the Gallura. The town was built at the beginning of the 19th century around a small country church and is now part of Olbia. A place that is proud of its traditions and its uniqueness. A place beyond time that welcomes visitors with the warm hospitality of its inhabitants and with a simplicity that is now rarely found: between the skilfully restored small houses you can see the artisans' shops and the artists' studios. In the central square with its white flowering oleander bushes you can hear the voices of children, drowned out by the impressive Thursday market. The majestic granite frame offers a wonderful tranquility that has little to do with the frenetic atmosphere of the Costa Smeralda. This point offers a view of the many boats on the Costa Smeralda. Every year, in fact, the port welcomes many elegant yachts that are worth seeing.

Currently only to be enjoyed with caution. Road bike: no chance Gravel: better not. Maybe with 40+ tires, rough; lots of thorns on the route. Not much grip. Very narrow. MTB: full concentration. No opportunity for turtles. Extremely lots of loose rubble. Trail almost overgrown. Vegetation above handlebar height. Trail therefore sometimes narrower than handlebars. Don't tip over. Gloves and long clothing recommended as there are thorns everywhere. Actually just wanted to go to the bakery in Pittulongu. Better to take the SP82 for that.
