Between St. Peter in der Au and Weistrach lies a very special Heuriger: "Zur Steinernen Birne" (Steinern's Pear), owned by the Oberaigner-Binder family. Its trademark? A giant stone pear that you walk through – a real eye-catcher and a photo opportunity you won't soon forget. Inside, a rustic, lovingly designed ambiance awaits you: a barrel-shaped floor, a baron's trüberl (baron's trüberl), a chicken garden, and cozy dining rooms invite you to linger. Served are hearty snacks, homemade farmhouse bread, pastries – and, of course, award-winning, single-varietal ciders, juices, and fine brandies. 🏅 Award-winning: The business has won several awards at the "Ab-Hof" (Produce From the Farm) trade fair in Wieselburg – including the "Golden Pear" and the "Golden Stamperl" (Golden Stamperl). The Steinerne Birne is also officially listed as a "Top Heuriger" (Top Heuriger). Accessible, with a children's playground and e-bike charging station – perfect for a relaxing break along the way. 📍 Address: Mostheuriger "Zur Steinernen Birne" St. Johann 155, 3352 St. Peter in der Au 📞 +43743442112 📧 binder@steinernebirne.at 🌐 www.steinernebirne.at

Beautiful old town with the Greinburg castle complex. Right at the entrance to the town there is a cozy café called Schörgi, where you can also sit outside. Usually easy to find as there are always lots of bikers there. The ice cream is definitely one of the best in the area and definitely recommended.
