Do you know the history of the Bourbon Bridge? It is the project of the Seiano bridge, an infrastructure desired by Ferdinand II of Bourbon in 1832. Its arches have been standing for almost 2 centuries! Named Ponte Nuovo to distinguish it from the previous Ponte Orazio, from Roman times (later called Ponte Vecchio or also Ponte Maiuro, in all probability from the Latin major), it was built in Seiano in 1832, when the then king of the Kingdom of the Two Sicilies Ferdinand II of Bourbon commissioned its design to the engineer Luigi Giordano, responsible for bridges and roads. The Bourbon bridge of Seiano is, in fact, the result of an urban planning design to connect Castellammare di Stabia, Vico Equense, Meta and Sorrento. The idea would have come to the Neapolitan sovereign after a trip along the Scutari road

The Cathedral of Massa Lubrense was founded in 1512 on the orders of Monsignore Girolamo Castaldi, as despite the over 18 hamlets and numerous churches in Massa, there was not yet a suitable episcopal building. The existing church Estaurita de Sant'Erasmo was integrated into the construction, and in 1677 the Church of Purgatory was erected next to the bell tower. After the earthquake of 1687, restoration and embellishment works began in the 18th century, including a splendid majolica floor and numerous polychrome marble altars, which gave the complex its current appearance.
