Part of the event is also a spectacular high-heeled race (Corsa sui Tacchi a Spillo). It is a short sprint of 100 meters! :-) The competition rules strictly define the footwear parameters. Only classic high heels are allowed, and the heel height must be between 70 and 100 mm (i.e. 7–10 cm). The race is purely entertainment and spectacle, constituting one of the biggest attractions for the audience gathered in Piazza Garibaldi. Interestingly, in the history of the race, it has happened that local female officials and activists also participated – for example, in the 35th edition, the then-chairwoman of the city council, Milena Sebastiani, ran.

The main event is a 10-kilometer street run with the start and finish located in the main city square – Piazza Garibaldi. The course has official certification and FIDAL homologation (Type A class), which means it is precisely measured, flat, and allows for official personal bests to be recorded. The route goes through the main streets of the city and along the seaside promenade. Accompanying this event is a non-competitive walk-run and recreational walk (passeggiata ludico motoria) of 4 kilometers, intended for families, children, and amateurs.

The best moment for a successful catch comes when the rough sea begins to calm down. The water near the shore still remains murky, and the disturbed seabed reveals what fish love most: mussels, small crabs, and worms washed out from the sandy-rocky bottom.

In Porto Sant'Elpidio, during the summer (July – August), the beaches are densely packed with sun loungers, and the noise and people swimming effectively scare away the fish during the day (then you can practically only fish at night). After the tourist season ends, anglers have the entire coastline to themselves at any time of day.

The routes wind along various types of roads, in any case the pedaling is easy and requires only modest training then, as happens to me, when you can't do it, you get off for a while....😂

From a cycling point of view it is not the best, there are cracks in the asphalt and some depressions, furthermore the cycle path is narrow, especially on the Faleriense side, when you meet a cyclist going the other way you have to be very careful; pedestrians also cross frequently....

An excellent seafront that is totally cycle-friendly for its entire length. The track, however, would need to be renovated.
