Like with the Feldberg, there probably isn't a particularly nice climb. Lots of traffic, no shade. If you're desperate to climb Schauinsland, you should take the route shown in this highlight. Further up, once you leave the main road, it gets quieter, but as has already been mentioned here: steeper.
