Schaumburg is privately owned and unfortunately cannot be visited. The most beautiful view of the castle is from a distance. West of the castle, an enchanted staircase leads past the castle, and then you can hike on narrow paths down to Balduinstein.

Nassau is a beautiful town on the way along the Lahn. It is worth making a small detour here and lingering for a while!

A wonderful little place and the heart of the idealistic re-emergence of Lahn wine. A centuries-old tradition that had (almost) died out, but has been revived thanks to the enthusiasm of individuals since the early 2000s!

The grey tower is one of several, but probably the best known

The castle is free to visit. Please note the opening hours. There's a wedding room in the castle tower, and breathtaking views of the surrounding area can be enjoyed from the top of the tower. You can even see the Lahn River from up there. 😘

There's a road you can take to Nassau Castle by car 🥳😜. Please be careful there, as the lane won't have enough room for two cars if another car is coming the other way. There are passing bays here and there. Or you can take the path through the forest on foot 🤗. The Lahn hiking trail also runs partway there 🌞🫶😄

The Grey Tower forms the southeast corner of the former Nassau city wall. The Nassau city wall originally consisted of five towers.
