As we ascend towards the Piana di Raggnolo, the beauty of nature around us will make the 11 km climb less tiring. Perhaps because this hike was done in August, perhaps because the temperature was around 35°C, despite the cool air, given the altitude and the setting, I hiked alone, encountering only a motorcycle and a Jeep. It felt like being on a Tibetan plateau.

Three and a half kilometers beyond Fiastra, the real, long climb to Sassotetto begins. Two important signs are the fountains with very fresh water that will help us on this long climb. Five meters before the fountains, turn left to climb through the Piana di Ragnolo (the most beautiful part of the hike). Now go… slowly and far.
