The German-language television series "Treasures of the World – Heritage of Humanity" – which I wholeheartedly recommend – dedicates a 15-minute segment to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of the Nuraghi in Sardinia and the traditional shepherd's song known there as "Canto a Tenore." The accompanying text states: "Over seven thousand round towers made of massive stone blocks are scattered throughout Sardinia. Often, only the stumps of these megalithic structures, called nuraghi, remain. The first ones were built around 1400 BC. Small stones were placed between the massive blocks, a construction method that made the stone towers virtually collapse-proof." This episode (episode 413 of the series) can be viewed in the ARD media library at the following link: =>> https://www.ardmediathek.de/video/schaetze-der-welt/sardinien/3sat/Y3JpZDovL3N3ci5kZS8xNTg4MzM5MA

Via Orientale Sarda, 126, 08040 Baunei A small shop selling fresh local produce such as ham and cheese. They also sell grappa, liqueurs, wine, and many other products. There are a few tables next to the shop on Plaza Indepenzia near the church. You can order dishes from a small menu, such as bacon and cheese platters, and drinks such as wine and juices. Table service is provided. There is no café, however. If you don't want to miss out, there's one right next door.
