From Poggio delle Ignude, there is no longer a path that leads directly from the summit to the Portafranca refuge; currently a feat, with a 35% descent on terrain full of unstable debris.

If the term "Uccelliera" refers to the entire ridge that goes from Mount Gennaio to the Porta Franca refuge, this path passes just below it. It's equally scenic, less exposed to the wind and easier to navigate.

Inaugurated on 22 September 1963 and immersed in the beech forest of the Teso forest, it has a beautiful terrace with tables and a spectacular view. Equipped with 12 beds. There is also a fountain but in the summer months it often has no water. From there you can quickly reach the Passo dei Malandrini. Currently closed for renovations, we hope to reopen as soon as possible.
