One of the most beautiful castles in Austria! Worth a visit, the bird of prey demonstrations are particularly exciting.

November 1, 2025, Peace Stupa Wagram

The Peace Stupa in Wagram near Feuersbrunn is one of the largest Buddhist peace monuments in Europe. Built between 2016 and 2019 according to the design of Austrian architect Matthias Rainer, it reaches a height of 32.5 meters and a diameter of approximately 30 meters. Particularly noteworthy is the accessible interior, designed as a space for meditation and encounters. The ceremonial inauguration took place on June 4, 2023. Construction was privately financed through the Stupa Institute of the Austrian Buddhist Religious Society and carried out under the spiritual guidance of monk Bop Jon Sunim, who had previously been involved in the Hungarian Peace Stupa in Zalaszántó. Inside the stupa are relics of the historical Buddha Shakyamuni, presented by the Dalai Lama, while a gilded Buddha statue weighing approximately 700 kilograms sits atop it. A large peace bell and the surrounding garden with meditation paths, sculptures, and prayer flags invite spiritual contemplation. The stupa symbolizes peace, compassion, and religious tolerance and is open to all people regardless of their faith.

Langenlois is a charming little town located in the renowned Kamptal wine region. It is especially known for its wine production, particularly Grüner Veltliner and Riesling. The town boasts a charming old town, numerous traditional wine taverns (Heurige), and attracts wine lovers from all over the world. A highlight is the Loisium Wine & Spa Resort, a modern wine experience center with a hotel, museum, and spa, which is architecturally impressive. Langenlois thus uniquely combines history, culture, and viticulture.

The listed branch church of St. Mary Magdalene in Kammern (Object ID 54389) is located on the main street and dates back to 1833. It is a simple, flat-roofed rectangular building from 1833 with a retracted, straight-ended chancel and a square-vaulted bay. The altar features a miraculous image of Our Lady of Help as the altarpiece and a depiction of St. Mary Magdalene as the upper image. Other furnishings include wooden, whitewashed statues of St. Leopold and St. John from the first half of the 18th century, an oil painting of St. Mary Magdalene dated 1728, and an oil painting of the Holy Family from around 1730. Located on the edge of the town center, the church forms a tranquil ensemble and is ideal for a short detour for cyclists along the Kamp Valley.

August 1, 2025, Schloss Haindorf

Haindorf Castle is located on the outskirts of the wine-producing town of Langenlois in the Kamp Valley in Lower Austria and offers an impressive ensemble of baroque architecture, extensive parkland, and modern uses. Originally built in the early 18th century, it was later converted into a training center for the BAUAkademie and now houses a seminar hotel with a restaurant. A special highlight is the annual Langenlois Castle Festival, which attracts operetta fans during the summer months. Cyclists can easily incorporate the castle into a tour through the Kamp Valley – for example, along the Kamp Valley Cycle Path. The park-like setting on the riverbank invites you to take a short rest or enjoy a cultural stopover.

The castle evolved from a former field mill; after extensive renovations in the 20th century, it is now used as a seminar and conference hotel. The expansive castle park also serves as the venue for the Langenlois Castle Festival and is an important cultural meeting place in the region.
