The structure stands on fieldstone foundations of a predecessor building. As early as 1541, a visitation protocol mentions a Semlin church; as early as 1450, there was a "Pfarrhufe" (approx. 17 hectares) in Semlin, i.e., church land. It is possible that the Dutch and Flemish, brought to the region as settlers by Margrave Albrecht, founded the Semlin church site as early as the end of the 12th century. The church contains a Lüdtkemüller organ with seven registers, acquired in 1893. The 15th-century bronze bell has a diameter of 91 cm and comes from present-day Krajnik Górny, Poland (Hohenkränig near Königsberg). A smaller bell from the 17th century was given to Neuglobsow in 1952. The church also owns a silver baptismal bowl from 1635. The weather vane from 1732 bears the initials of the patrons von Rauchhaupt and von der Hagen. A renovation in 2002 managed to eliminate the most urgent damage to the building; concerts also serve to maintain the necessary further upkeep.

Absolutely iconic, and as a solo piece, slightly elevated, it can be seen from afar. Located directly on the Havel Cycle Path.

The cycle path alongside the road rolls well, no root damage and, in my opinion, preferable to the road when there is traffic.
