It wasn't until the late 1980s that the building was restored with the aim of becoming a cultural center and local history museum. This use required the conversion of several small rooms into four larger halls with a total of 200 square meters. Since 1993, the history of the town of Schlüsselfeld and topics from the geology, ecology, and folklore of the Steigerwald have been presented here in a particularly clear and understandable way. The museum strives for an exhibition that can be touched and understood: touching is even encouraged. Another important part is the presentation of the history of porcelain in Europe and that of the manufactory in Reichmannsdorf from the late 18th century. The resulting special collection of porcelain salt shakers is now one of the largest of its kind. https://www.schluesselfeld.de/tourismus-freizeit/sehenswertes-in-schluesselfeld/sehenswuerdigkeiten
