The bivouac has been operational for a few months. New, clean, internally lined with wood, without any writing. The only shame is the poorly insulating iron frames and the transparent plastic instead of glass: horrible!

The Rifugio Piano dei Grilli is a welcoming structure immersed in the Etna Park. It offers a warm and hospitable shelter, with an internal room where you can relax Often frequented on weekends, it has a small workshop corner for bicycles. The view of Etna from here is simply spectacular.

Regarding the tour "between Etna's paths and lava flows" I think that the upper mountain part is a s0, while the connection of this one, from the ref. Excavation at Mount Egypt, approximately 2.5 km long, runs almost exclusively on a lava flow and therefore can only be cycled for the first stretch and for a few meters every now and then. Beautiful, but to specify.

Very scenic refuge. The forestry told me that it is not possible to rent it.
