The 15-meter-high water tower was built in 1907 on the Breniger Schornsberg and was in operation until 1957. Protected as a monument since 1986, the brick tower remained unused for a long time until Alexander Lichtenberg from Cologne acquired it from the Euskirchener Gaswerke in 1989. In the following years, the tower was used, among other things, as a conference center and a restaurant. Since March 22, 2014, a new tenant has been operating an e-bike station with a bicycle shop and gastronomy in the tower. On the edge of the village of Keldenich - part of the town of Wesseling - there is a small nature reserve with the lovely name "Entenfang". The lake shore cannot be reached directly - either on foot or by bike - as it is a nature reserve, but there is a small bird watching station on the side of the road. The fields and meadows bordering the lake area are a very popular destination, and are therefore visited accordingly, especially when the weather is good. (In the current weather, you can be "alone in the wide open spaces").
