This stretch of dirt road between Corchiano and Borghetto is truly spectacular. The view ranges from Mount Cimino, Mount Soratte, Monti Sabini and the nearby Mount Cosce. The road is well beaten, up to the quarry near Borghetto, and it is a real pleasure to pedal.

A lake of volcanic origin in the province of Viterbo, Lake Vico perhaps owes its name to the locality Vicus Matrini, an important junction on the Via Cassia that no longer exists. It is surrounded by a wetland that is also a protected natural area.

Worth deviating off the main road. Very good value, friendly and delicious cakes and coffee. Didn’t try the pizza but looked good.
