The plastered brick hall building with a chamfered western choir end was built in 1753 as the first Protestant church in the area. A tower, originally unplastered, was added to the simple building 100 years later. The Aachen building inspector Johann Peter Cremer (1785–1863) provided a design for it in the Prussian round arch style. After rectifying damage from World War II in 1953, the interior was renovated, during which the altar and pulpit were moved under the organ loft and a new western entrance was created. The almost austere-looking interior is closed by a flat barrel vault and still features the original pews. The baptismal font rests on the torso of a late Gothic bundled pillar, which is said to come from the Mariawald monastery near Heimbach.
