Candela is a picturesque town located in the southern Dauni mountains, with its historic center rising on the hills of San Rocco and San Tommaso. The municipal territory, between the Carapelle and Ofanto rivers, marks the end of the Pescasseroli-Candela sheep track, an ancient grassy transhumance route 211 km long. With a population of 2,495 inhabitants, Candela is a municipality in the province of Foggia, in Puglia. A place where history and nature blend, offering a fascinating perspective on the southern Dauni mountains.

Spectacular architecture that stands out on the small lake of Monticchio. Initially carved into the rock by the Benedictine friars (inside beyond the church with an altar carved into the rock, there are 2 tombs of friars that can be visited) and then passed into the hands of the Capuchins who completed this spectacular work. I recommend a visit to the museum where free guides will provide you with all the information and show you the differences between the 2 construction architectures, it is also possible to see one of the mouths of the volcano (now extinct following an implosion that generated the 2 lakes) from which the lava flowed and information on the lakes and flora and fauna (with a section dedicated to bramea). Absolutely worth visiting.

Lavello, located in the Vulture-Melfese in Basilicata, rises in the middle valley of the Ofanto river. Characterized by an ancient origin, the town is home to the historic church of Sant'Anna, built in the 16th century and full of works of art. The territory preserves traces of Roman thermal buildings and early Christian burial grounds.
