To the pilgrims lingering before this small sacred monument with its special dedication as a "Cross of Peace"—what more could the world need in these times?—I would like to offer Pope Leo XIV's welcoming words as a small personal encouragement to peace. Immediately after his election, before bestowing the traditional blessing "urbi et orbi" (to the city and the world) on the waiting faithful, he addressed the people gathered in St. Peter's Square, as well as those participating via radio, television, and online media, with these moving words: + "Peace be with you all! Dear brothers and sisters, this is the first greeting of the Risen Christ, the Good Shepherd... I too hope that this greeting of peace will enter your hearts, reach your families, all people, wherever they are, all nations, the whole earth. Peace be with you!" This is the peace of the risen Christ, an unarmed and disarming peace, humble and persevering. It comes from God, the God who loves us all unconditionally." (Robert Francis Prevost / Pope Leo XIV)

I hiked from the Perneckerkogel over here to the Eiskogel. The fantastic view today of the "sea of fog" in the valley and the surrounding outstanding mountain peaks was simply wonderful. ☀️recharge your batteries and let your soul unwind "above the clouds".😅😍👌🏼☀️🧡🥾

From the Seisenburg ruins car park, climb up to the Perneckerkogel. The tall trees mean you have little view of the surrounding landscape. But the TRAUNSTEIN stands out very prominently and is clearly visible. A hike here is definitely worth it and then it's not far to the "Ederbild and the Eiskogel". ⛰️😉😍☀️🧡🥾

Really cool uphill but very steep and demanding. Only recommended on dry ground.

Since 2002, the Grömer Kreuz has stood a few steps next to the Eder picture at the fork in the road between Pernecker Kogel and Eiskogel
