Tips from the Community

Waldtroll 🌲🌳
August 31, 2025, Edwin Roedder Memorial

The Roedder Monument is currently being restored by volunteers from the Waidachswald Conservation Association. Since it was in very poor condition and was erected in 1948 in honor of a supporter of the former municipality of Oberschefflenz, the restoration of the monument is scheduled to be completed on October 21, 2025, on the 80th anniversary of Dr. Prof. Edwin Roedder's death. Roedder's deepest wish was that his ashes be scattered in his beloved Waidachswald forest. Since this was/is not possible in Germany, the municipality erected this monument in 1948 as the burial site for the Roedder couple.

Coming from Schefflenz, the tarmac is a bit uneven up to here. Towards Sennfeld the surface is super smooth. Very beautiful route through the forest
