This small chapel from the middle of the 19th century - probably built around 1850 - is located in the middle of the hamlet of Egenried, slightly elevated in the center. From here you have a wonderful view of the Alpine chain. It is rather spartanly furnished, but has a curious feature. The only bell in this chapel is rung by hand every day at 12 noon for 5 minutes. Every family living in Egenried has this task for one year, which then passes to the next family in Egenried on the Catholic holiday of Candlemas. The order in which the families have to take on this task is precisely defined - a very interesting arrangement.
