A Dutch windmill from 1802 (wooden octagonal, boarded and shingled) with louvered wings and a compass rose. Original equipment (3 grinding mills, 2 bag boxes, barley mill with cleaning system, and groats mill) is partially functional. A former steam mill from 1908 (brick building behind the windmill), also preserved since 1940 with an electric motor drive (barley mill, roller mill, and sifter), is also preserved. As a widow's residence, it's certainly not so bad. But as a place for training, it's certainly more sensible.

I was surprised that Herder worked here. And it is the seat of the regional church of Schaumburg-Lippe, one of the smaller regional churches.
