The chapel of Santa Margherita in campo is located a stone's throw from the Italian border in the open countryside. It probably belonged to the monasteries of Como along with other assets. It has been documented since 1437, but almost certainly dates back to the Romanesque era (10th-12th century)

Initially equipped with two millstones for cereals and an oil press, the mill began operations in 1802, and was expanded in 1869. Its activity continued until around 1960. In 1990 the Galli family, the sole owner, decided to donate the building with approximately 4 hectares of land to the Municipality of Coldrerio, with the aim of creating a public park. Since then, work has been carried out at the mill to put a cereal mill and the oil press back into operation, which are used for educational purposes. The types of flour produced are: the classic corn flour and the one called "Antica", composed of one third of buckwheat and two thirds of corn.
