The town hall is over 100 years old. Once, it housed not only the town hall but also the police station and a prison. It is said that the prison was actually quite popular because the warden's wife was a good cook.

Gyldensteen Strand is Funen's largest nature restoration. The 616 ha area was previously dammed. In the dammed area there were fields and agricultural land, but now the dikes have disappeared from the coast and the water has returned. It is the large Danish fund Aage V. Jensen Naturfond that has bought the area and recreated a shallow coastal lagoon, a freshwater lake and a reed forest. There are good hiking trails and fantastic views here. Gyldensteen Strand is a private forest, so you can walk in the area from 6 a.m. to sunset. Please note that traffic is only allowed on the paths within the Gyldensteen Strand area, as marked on the map. The Gyldensteen Strand nature area is surrounded by private land where traffic is not allowed. Source: Visitnordfyn
