The Leopoldine Temple stands in the eastern part of the Esterházy Palace park. Prince Nikolaus II Esterházy had the temple erected in honor of his only daughter, Princess Leopoldine Esterházy. It was completed between 1818 and 1824. The structure was built as a Greek circular temple with a flat dome, surrounded by 19 Egyptian-style columns with palmette capitals. Inside, there is a beautiful painted coffered ceiling. In the center stands a copy of the famous statue of Princess Leopoldine, created by the Italian sculptor Antonio Canova.
