The cemetery in Jahna (a district of the municipality of Ostrau, Mittelsachsen district) is located in a historically significant place: it is presumed that the Slavic castle of the Daleminzians stood there in "Gana", which was conquered by King Henry I in 929. In the cemetery stands the so-called "Mord-Säule" (murder column), which commemorates the fate of Johann Andreas and Johanne Rosine Conrad, who were bludgeoned to death with an axe in their beds on the night of January 8th to 9th, 1809. Also preserved are historicist tombs from the 19th century, which are now considered cultural monuments of the region as part of the Jahnatal Route.
