Aaron Douglas Art Park

Highlight • Monument

I was looking for something interesting to see in Topeka and figured I'd come see an art park. I didn't know anything about Aaron Douglas, and after reading some of the 4 signs here I know more about him. He was a mural artist and there is a mural here representing his work. He was from Topeka, and one of these days maybe I'll learn more about him.

Quite a collection of hiking trails in this park. Neat ruins of an old dairy farm that this land used to house. Didn't get to do any hiking today, was on a long car ride looking to find a place to stretch and check out for a future visist.

A big sports complex with soccer field and several ball fields. Adventure Cove looks like a fun area to play in the water, a beach, a bunch of floating activities. Plus they have rental boats and such, and a cool flamingo boat out front that they turned into a planter.
